Hi, I’m Michele Cooper!

I’m a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Colorado (License #9923212).  I received my BA in psychology from the University of Colorado and MSW from the University of Denver Graduate School of Social Work.  I am the founder of CORtherapy and co-founder of Elevate Counseling and Community Center.

I have over 13 years of experience in the field of psychotherapy. My experience ranges from community mental health centers to partial hospitalization level of care at an eating disorder center to working with survivors of domestic abuse and now outpatient private practice.

This is all a part of me, but these labels and letters after my name don’t define me. I’m also a daughter, a sister, a friend, an athlete, an advocate, and an inspirer. Oh, and I am also a human.  And being human has allowed me the opportunity to have plenty of my own life experiences, work through my own life struggles, slowly (and painfully at times) learn to accept myself and build a life I’m proud of.

At the core of everything I do lies the same fundamental value: relationship matters most.

As a therapist, I help people explore their relationship with themselves — the good, bad, ugly, and beautiful parts. I believe if we are bettering our relationship with ourselves, we are simultaneously bettering our relationship with everyone and everything around us.

Working with me is your invitation to step into courage and create a life full of connection and aliveness. My hope is that you walk away from our work together engaged in yourself and your life in a way that makes you say, “fuck yes!”

Outside of my office, you will most likely find me chasing the sun on my bike or skis or sitting with people I love on an oyster filled patio.

Meet Charlie, he’s a purebred brown dog, who does not hold any credentials to note.  He will, however, offer unconditional support or some hugs if you need, in the corner of my office.
