The time to start loving yourself is right now!

When is enough, enough? When is it time to stop hating our bodies or continually trying to change, alter, or “better” the way we look? We live in a culture that bombards us with messages daily about we should look like, what we should wear, what we should and should not eat. We are spoon fed false promises that 1.) achieving perfection is actually possible and 2.) this pursuit will actually make you feel better. In the world of social media, comparison is always at our fingertips, and if we aren’t aware can become our go-to. (Most always making us feel worse, am I right?).

Our society does a damn good job at making us feel like we just aren’t good enough the way we are. “If I achieve the perfect body, then…?” What do we think comes of this?

More acceptance?

More love?

Better self-esteem?

More friends?

More successful?

Listen- here’s the reality… This belief is slowly killing us! I know this sounds dramatic, but I see it all the time. The most wonderful and beautiful aspects of people are being dampened in this pursuit of perfection, and it’s time to make a change! I can’t tell you how many women I’ve worked with who have missed out on travel opportunities, nights out with friends, relationships, experiences and ultimately loving themselves- all because they didn’t feel “thin enough” “good enough” “fearful of gaining weight”, etc., etc., etc., etc., etc… the list goes on forever!

Are you finally ready to be done? 

It’s time to start loving yourself and it’s time to stop feeding into the false beliefs that “When I am/have (thinner, stronger, toned abs, leaner legs, bigger boobs, smaller boobs) then I’ll (stop worrying, be confident, be loved, start living).” Whatever came to your mind, I want you to know, you deserve all of that right now, regardless of the shape of your body!

I am so excited to again be offering a group to help support women, just like yourself, who have suffered long enough with hating their bodies. Join me, and other like-minded women on this journey towards more body acceptance with a 4-week body image group starting in October. In addition to this 4 week program, Melissa Preston and I are now offering on-going drop in support groups to all graduates of the body project group on the 1st Tuesday of each month. YOU ARE WORTH IT!
